Fast and safe

Fast and safe

Based on the highly successful 35 Express hull

The 35 Flybridge is beautiful, fast and extremely well laid out. In true Henriques fashion, the emphasis is on safety, strength and fishability, yet she offers plenty in style, comfort and good looks.

A large cockpit is also part of the Henriques tradition, and this model is no exception! With 100 square feet, the cockpit offers a walk-through transom door, two 100 gallon in-deck fishboxes, a transom livewell, a bait prep station and plenty of tackle storage. All that and still room for a crew of anglers!

The molded fiberglass flybridge area contains two helm chairs for the captain and his or her companion. This command center features a console panel to flush mount your electronics, a console front bench seat, an aluminum safety rail with rocket launcher and more.

Catering to customers’ preferences whenever possible, Henriques offers a variety of textures and colors as well as a say in the actual layout of the interior. A single stateroom, galley down model is available or you may opt for the two stateroom layout. A roomy head with a full size separate shower, a fully equipped galley and spacious salon (with easy engine room access) complete the interior.

Fuel efficient

For fishing and cruising

Like its big brothers the 256 and the 296, Cobia’s 237 has the same high performance and fuel-efficient hull design that delivers serious offshore fishability and family cruising comfort.

A stem-to-stern level deck, flush mount hardware, recessed bow rail and hideaway aft bench seating give you unparalleled fishing space for a boat this size.

Stern

Add to that Cobia’s “keep alive” aerated 28 gallon livewell and two in-deck 40 gallon fish boxes with macerator pumps, and you have a full-featured sport fisherman. Best of all, when the rods are stowed, the 237 turns into a comfortable family cruiser.

Hatch

Just pull out the aft bench seat with backrest or lounge on the forward bow seating area. The 237 also features an enclosed head and freshwater transom shower. No other 23 combines this much fishing, cruising and performance into one beautiful design.

New Marine Industry Tent

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Includes marine industry exhibits only

Cutting-edge products now all in one tent

This year, we’re revolutionizing our booth space by introducing a Marine Industry Tent. The 13,000-square-foot tent consists exclusively of marine industry exhibits. You’ll see marine electronics, engines, docks, life rafts and much more.

For instance, check out what’s new in dock building at Booths 204, 205 and 206. Featuring modular designs, EZ Dock at All-Action Water Sports allows you to create the ideal floating dock for your needs and environment. Choose from a wide array of accessories and styles, all in safe, rugged, easy-to-care-for polyethylene.

If you’re looking for aluminum construction, see what Bristol Industries of Pennsylvania has to offer. Floating and stationary docks as well as gangways are available in all popular sizes at competitive prices. Large sizes can be customized upon request. At the same booth is Innovative Marine Solutions with No Profile Boat Lifts and Pearson Fiberglass Pilings. Visually appealing, the lifts are also ADA compliant to help someone with a disability easily access a boat. Long-lasting yet lightweight, the pilings are 1/3 the weight of comparable wood and 1/4 the weight of steel.

Electronics are a focus at Booths 208, 211 and 216. High Seas Technology is a dealer for all the major marine electronics manufacturers and can outfit your helm station with a choice of products. Atlantic Marine Electronics, part of Viking Yachting Center, can put together a package, too. Be sure to see technical innovations such as underwater lights and thermal-imaging cameras. Viking Yachting Center also is a marina and complete service and repair center.

Another marina and complete service center with a comprehensive electronics department is Canyon Club Marina. Its Offshore Electronics can give your boat a complete outfitting, including fiberglass and carpentry applications and customized fabrication of hydraulically controlled electronic boxes. Or technicians can just deliver a simple component replacement at a neighboring marina.

To see engines and motors, stop by Booths 212 and 216. Tuckerton Marine Servicenter is an authorized dealer for all 20 models of Suzuki 4-stroke outboards, ranging from a 2.5 horsepower portable to a 4-liter 300-horsepower V6. Tuckerton also has a marina and full-service area. For diesel engines and more, Mid-Alantic Engine Supply Corporation is your source. Also a distributor for AC and DC generator sets, pumps and pump units, Racor water separators/filtration systems and Baldwin filters, Mid-Atlantic can custom fabricate equipment and parts as well as provide service.

Life rafts that have been rated #1 in every independent life raft evaluation in which they have been included are at Booth 210. Highly regarded Winslow LifeRaft is showing its Super-Light and Ultra-Light 6-man models, so lightweight and compact in design that they are easy to handle and simple to store.

A custom welding and fabrication shop, G.W. Performance Welding at Booth 217, offers a variety of tower tops and accessories. Customization and even remote-location work are also available for their T-tops, hardtops, arches, rod holders and leaning posts.

The Mariners School at Booth 207 is now Coast-Guard approved to offer a combination of classroom and online courses. So whether you want to get your captain’s license, upgrade to a master’s license or advance your boating knowledge, Mariners School has a solution to meet your educational needs.

Even more marine products — boat financing, insurance, nautical supplies, accessories and clothing — are in the Marine Accessory Mart. Don’t miss it!

Breast Cancer Awareness Event on Friday the 5th

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
Fishing for a cure

Stop by Booth 72

At noon on Friday be sure to stop by Booth 72 in the Merchandise Mart Tent. That’s when Margate Post Office Manager Carol A. Threatt will be recognizing the hard work and dedication of the Ladies Invitational Bluefish Tournament.

She’s bringing a LARGE poster of the breast cancer postage stamp to present to Kimberly Kirk, president of the LIBT. Also in tow, we’ve heard, will be breast cancer Teddy bears, a one-day commemorative cancellation stamp marking the event and other items.

These LIBT ladies are unstoppable. Each year right here out of the Farley State Marina and three other New Jersey shore locations, they fish for a cure. Last June, 348 of them showed up in 68 boats. A $60,000 donation was the result, bringing their 10-year total to $380,000.

Carol Threatt shares that interest in breast cancer awareness, and once again is leading the Margate post office’s annual campaign.

So stop by at noon and help honor these local ladies. Then pick up some informational material about breast cancer. Be sure you and your family and friends have the latest information about the risks, treatment options, support groups and more.

Goes the distance with fuel efficiency

To create this flagship of their yacht line, Sea Ray’s design team went back to the drawing board and started from scratch. With three exquisitely appointed staterooms standard, superior performance from the 1100 CR MAN engines and a host of luxurious amenities, this boat is in a class all its own.

Long-distance trips are a breeze at cruising speeds, thanks to optimal fuel efficiency. And standard bow and stern thrusters make docking surprisingly easy. Molded steps, wide walkways and an enormous standard hydraulic-lift swim platform provide convenient access from the dock or water.

Carver 44 Sojourn

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
Domestic debut

Domestic debut

Dynamic new design

The design and character of the new 44 Sojourn is strikingly different from other boats — successfully combining the low-profile style and performance of an express cruiser with the roomy bridge, spacious cockpit and open-air salon of a sedan. Additionally, all of the living space is on one convenient stair-less level.

A low profile and an extended superstructure make the yacht look unique, contemporary, lean and aggressive. The extended superstructure also gives the 44 the most spacious bridge of any boat this size. The bridge seats at least 12 people, so guests can enjoy the view from aloft while underway and at dockside. The bridge also has a roomy sun lounge. Add the refrigerator and grill to this area, and you have a self-contained environment that is equal to no other boat.

The helm is designed to accommodate a full array of high tech nav/com instruments, and space is provided to flush-mount a 12″ display. The painted aluminum arch and integral hardtop serve as sturdy mounting platforms for radio, television and radar antennas and as a beefy anchor point for the bridge’s full enclosure.

Step inside the 44, and you’ll immediately notice that unlike an express-style boat, a number of salon windows and an aft sliding door let in plenty of sunlight. Various types of finely finished hardwoods are used throughout the yacht to provide a stylish, contemporary atmosphere. To port is a sectional sofa lounge and to starboard a dinette that seats six and converts to a double bed. The galley is adjacent to the salon and is equipped with a full complement of home-like features.

Situated forward of the galley are two staterooms and two head compartments. The master stateroom has a roomy island berth, and the VIP stateroom features his and hers twin beds. For at-home comfort inner-spring, pillow-top mattresses are used in both staterooms. And, in true Carver tradition, there is plenty of space to store and hang clothing and personal items for an extended cruise.

The large transom platform makes boarding the boat while at dockside safe and convenient. Integrated into the transom is a unique jump seat. The boat’s spacious cockpit has built-in, secure storage for dock lines, fenders and other equipment. A walk to the boat’s foredeck from the cockpit is safe and secure, because the walkway is extra wide and the strong stainless steel handrails have double welded bases. On the foredeck you’ll find a comfortable, double-wide chaise lounge, automatic windlass and remote control spot light.

This all new Carver has been designed for Volvo’s innovative IPS drive system, which provides power to run at 29 knots at cruising speed and achieve a top speed of 32 knots. Volvo IPS drives provide improved propulsion efficiency when compared to traditional shaft-driven systems. And with the joystick control you’ll be able to dock the Carver 44 with a level of precision and confidence that you may never thought possible.

The Carver 44 is an entirely new and unique style of yacht that’s built to accommodate fun-filled time on the water without having to sacrifice comfort, space, style or safety.

Hinckley 36 Picnic

Monday, August 25th, 2008

New this year

New this year

A range of innovations

Take a close look at the New Picnic Boat and you’ll see a familiar, understated aesthetic that merges form and function. Look more deeply, and you’ll discover a range of innovations such as twin-diesel engines, an open-deck design, a raised pilothouse and a hull capable of providing stability and comfort under a wide range of conditions. The Picnic Boat’s love affair with the water lives on.

Higher level of power — Twin 300HP diesel engines, coupled with Hinckley’s Waterjet propulsion and controlled by the patented Hinckley JetStick®, power the New Picnic Boat. It is fast, responsive and quiet with lower drag at speed for fuel efficiency. Lastly, as a waterjet, it is environmentally friendly to our seagoing friends like the manatees — and provides greater safety by not entangling lobster buoys.

True Hinckley hull — The New Picnic Boat has a deeper-V hull for stability and comfort in all weather and sea conditions. Yet it requires only two feet and one inch of draft, making it equally at home a few feet from the beach or well offshore. And, of course, the hull construction is a Vinylester resin-infused composite of Kevlar, E-Glass and Carbon Fiber, making the hull light, stiff and impact resistant.

Open deck design — The twin engines are repositioned to reside completely below deck, freeing up significant space aft for relaxing and entertaining. Built-in storage keeps the entire deck area free of clutter.

Command viewing, superior ventilation — We’ve slightly elevated the pilothouse, and the difference is dramatic. Captains enjoy greater visibility and safety, while power hatches and windows allow passengers to enjoy enhanced climate control and a sense of connection between the onboard and outdoor environment.

Hinckley signatures — JetStick® control. A sculpted salon of handcrafted cherry, teak and holly. And, of course, with eight full service boatyards, a level of service that provides complete management and maintenance of your boat.
